Term 2 Newsletter 21-22

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had the most fantastic and exciting term! Our school participated in anti bullying week where focused activities took place within the curriculum, this included our pupils being encouraged to demonstrate 'random acts of kindness’ towards each other.

Our assemblies and the focus of our SMSC activities have been on what makes a good citizen. We have been developing our knowledge of topics including; honesty, self belief and organisation. We know that our pupils demonstrate these qualities as they regularly receive their credits each lesson for good learning and behaviour. Over the past two terms pupils have earnt a total of 90421 credits. Additionally our pupils, their families and staff have raised an incredible amount of money by participating in charity events: for Children in Need we raised an amazing £367.97, our Christmas jumper day for Save the Children raised £80.15 and for our Christmas raffle we raised £234.50, thank you to everyone for your generosity.

As of writing, the school is being asked to conduct onsite Lateral Flow testing to secondary aged pupils where consent has been provided, on Tuesday 4th January (further information will be sent to parents where this is applicable). Additionally, current government guidance strongly advises that if you are contacted by NHS Track and Trace as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID, you conduct LFD testing daily for 7 days; during this time pupils can continue to attend school as long as their result is negative.

We would like to reassure all parents/carers we continue to implement our COVID safe procedures within our school. This includes minimising the number of visitors to our school. With this in mind, we would like to remind all parents and carers of our school drop off and pick up procedures:

Morning drop off Bottom gate 8:40am
Afternoon pick up Monday-Thursday Bottom gate 4:00pm Friday Bottom gate 2:30pm
All pupils are met by a member of the Senior Leadership Team on arrival to school at the gate.

Following the latest government guidelines, all educational settings are strongly encouraged to ask parents, guardians and other visitors to take a lateral flow test (LFD) before entering the School, we respectfully ask where possible that you follow this guidance to support us in keeping our young people safe.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful, safe and Happy Christmas and I look forward to all pupils returning on Tuesday 4th January 2022.
