Newsletter—Term 3 2020-2021
Posted on 23-02-2021
Dear Parents / Carers
Welcome to our latest St Mary's Newsletter. I remain incredibly proud of our school community. Staff, pupils, parents and carers have responded positively to the challenges that Covid has brought for us in term 3.
We have successfully established our lateral flow testing centre which has contributed to our safety measures at St Mary’s. Whether pupils have been at school or home this term, they have demonstrated enthusiastic approaches to their learning.
Our assemblies this term have focussed upon safety, including online safety, road safety, safety in the home and mental health awareness.
Enclosed with this term’s newsletter is our draft Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Policy We would be very grateful if you could read this document and complete the accompanying parent/ carer questionnaire.
Parent Consultations with form tutors will be held on Wednesday 17th March from 4.20pm to 7.00pm and on Friday 19th March from 2.20pm to 6.00pm. To book an appointment with your child’s tutor please phone our school office from Monday 22nd February. If you miss your phone call, the teacher will not be able to call back on the 17th/19th because of time constraints. It is therefore important that your phone contact details are up to date with us; if you have a new number, please ensure you have updated your details with the school office.
We will be offering parents/carers 15 minutes per pupil consultations with their tutor. Therapists will contact parent/ carers directly during the week beginning 15th March for 15 minute consultations. Residential staff continue to be in contact with parents/carers on a weekly basis. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for your continued support.
Have a wonderful half term holiday and we look forward to welcoming pupils back to school on Monday 22nd February.
